2010 WUC Badminton Update: Meetings & Team Draw

 Heads of Delegation Meeting

TAIPEI CITY – Today, September 6^th, the accreditation centre was as busy as a beehive, while the CIC delegate Dorjsuren Jargalsaikhan accredited already athletes from 16 countries. The day before the opening ceremony 159 athletes and officials already received the accreditation card.

CISCA Meeting

During the CISCA Meeting the members (Alison OdellCISCA Chair Mrs. Odell and CT Chair Mr. Johansson – FISU EC Member; Dorjsuren Jargalsaikhan – CIC Member; Dr. Koing-Bo Kwun – CMI Member; Roger Johansson – CT Chair for Badminton; David Cabello – BWF Representative; Tseng Ching-Yu – General Secretary of CTUSF) checked the main topics of this FISU event with the OC. The CISCA also discussed the medical support of the competition and water supply for the athletes during the competition.    

CT Meeting and Heads of Delegation Meeting

The Technical Committee Meeting was held in the hotel at 18.30 pm. CISCA Chair and EC Member Mrs. Odell introduced all member of the FISU Family and together with Mr. Johansson informed all the delegation about the preparations of the tournament. The Organizing Committee informed all participants about the program of the championship as well as the Opening Ceremony which will take place tomorrow at 2pm at the Sports Hall. The chief of the umpires Mr. Surasak Songvorakulphan informed the teams about the procedure of the draw. During the meeting the Technical Committee was set up by the FISU CT for Badminton.

During the meeting FISU Medical committee member Dr. Koing-Bo Kwun informed the CISCA members and Heads of Delegation about the medical assistance during the Championship. Doping control will be made during the Championship according the FISU Regulations and WADA Rules.

After the draw the referees meeting was organized at the Fullerton Hotel. The presence of 5 international umpires from Philippines, Netherlands, Japan, Korea together with the local Chinese Taipei referees and umpires will provide a high quality level of refereeing for the 11^th WUC Badminton.
