2010 WUC Boxing Update: Inspection Visit

ULAANBAATAR On August 9th, Eduard Abdulmanov, FISU Technical Chair for Boxing started his first day of a two-day evaluation visit of Ulaanbaatar, the host city for the 4th World University Boxing Championship which will take place next October.

In the morning Mr. Abdulmanov examined the training and competition venue of the championship, i.e. the new Sports Palace which is located near the `Chinggis-khaan` International Airport. He was joined by Jargalsaikhan D., Secretary-General of the Mongolian Student Sports Federation (MSSF); Erdenetuya CH., Executive Director of MSSF; Nandigjav Ts., Executive Director of the Mongolian Olympic Boxing Federation (MOBF); Uitumen T., Secretary- General of MOBF together with some other staff members of the Organizing Committee.  The delegations went around and examined the warm-up area, press center, VIP area, training venue, technical delegates’ office and the main sport competition area. Mr. Abdulmanov was quite impressed with the new Sports Palace. During the visit, there was a media meeting where the FISU Technical Chair gave a round-up to the Mongolian television media of his inspection visit.

After lunch, Mr. Abdulmanov went to the Bayangol Hotel where he checked the athletes’ accommodations and the rooms for the technical meeting, draw, accreditation and weighing. He also visited the main office of the Organizing Committee at the Central Sports Palace where he met with members of the Organizing Committee, MSSF and MOBF. After the meeting, he visited a training of Mongolian boxers and saw the boxing equipment in the Boxing Sport Hall of the Central Sports Palace with some members of MSSF and MOBF.

Before ending the first day of his inspection visit, Mr. Abdulmanov met with Mr. Naranbaatar, who is the Chairman of Physical Culture and Sports State Authority of Mongolia. He discussed his inspection visit with Mr, Naranbaatar and also gave valuable suggestions to the Honorable Chairman.
