2nd International Sports Forum in Moscow

The Second International Sports Forum took place in Moscow from July 29 to 31. At this occasion, a delegation from FISU made up of President, George E. Killian, Vice President, Stefan Bergh, and Secretary General/CEO, Eric Saintrond, went to Moscow to take part in the roundtable on Problems and Perspectives of International Cooperation in University Sport.

 

EUSA President, Alberto Gualtieri, and his Secretary General, Matjaz Pecovnik, also participated to this conference together with the Presidents of National University Sports Associations of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Estonia and Kazakhstan.

 

 

 

 

  

 During this Forum, the Russian hosts, together with the international sports family, also celebrated the 30th anniversary of the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. For this event, many celebrations and sports events were organized all around the city, but especially in the Olympic Complex which welcomed the fantastic show Moscow 1980 – Sochi 2014.

The President of Tatarstan, Mr. Minnikhanov, the Russian Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy, Mr. Vitaly Mutko, and the President of the Russian Students Sports Union, Mr. Oleg Matytsin, also joined to sign the Memorandum.

Further to the official meetings, the FISU President and Secretary General/CEO, visited several new venues including the Athletes’ Village of the 2013 Summer Universiade which has a capacity of 7,500 beds available as from September 1, 2010.Visiting the Kazan 2013 Athletes’ Village
