2010 WUC Squash Update: Melbourne is Ready

MELBOURNE – On July 9th, in Melbourne at the Monash University the organizing committee lead by Alf Lazer, FISU Honorary Member is welcoming the participants of the 7th World University Squash Championship and reviewing the latest details of the event.

The FISU technical delegate, Zena Wooldridge together with Michael Khan, representative of the World Squash Federation, are finalizing the competition program and preparing the technical meeting.

Eleven countries will take part in this event. It is the third time that a FISU Championship is organized in Australia.

The opening ceremony will take place on July 10th and the competition program will start on the 11th.

Mr. Lazer & Mr. BoothMr. Lazer took the opportunity to invite Mr. A.G. Booth for the event as he was the team manager of Australia for their first time ever participation to the Summer Universiade. It was back in 1967 in Tokyo. Mr. Booth compiled all publications issued by Australia for that event and gave them to Kolë Gjeloshaj, FISU Director Educational and Development Services for the FISU archives.
