2010 WUC Handball Update: Day 6 of Competitions

NYIREGYHAZA – On Saturday July 3rd, the Hungarian women’s team can start celebrate the championship title. Hungary won their fifth game in row this time against Czech Republic by 9 goals, 31–22. The Brazilian team played the last game of the tournament and they lost against Romania with a difference of seventeen goals. Brazil finished the championship without any point but with good international games experience.

In the men’s tournament the games for the 5th to the 10th place were played. Cyprus took the 5th place after the winning in a close game against Turkey. The score after the final whistle of the referees was 25- 23. The two teams, who didn’t have any points played against each other for the 9th place. The United Arab Emirates won by one goal against Mexico.

The men’s final will be played tomorrow. Hungary and the Czech Republic will play against each other at 4 p. m.

For the 7th place

Poland–Ukraine: 31–25 (15–12)

For the 9th place

United Arab Emirates–Mexico: 32–31 (15–16)

Best scorers: Marzooq 10, al-Abdulla 7, Ahmed 5, and Acuna, J. Garcia 5-5.
