2011 SU Update: Young Journalists Seminar

Shenzhen – Following the discussions held in Antalya, Turkey at the occasion of the 73rd AIPS Congress last month, members of the FISU International Press Committee met with representatives from the Media and Communications Department of the Shenzhen OC in the Wuzhou Guest House.

Main topics were the contents and the organisational aspects of the first Seminar for Young Journalists which will be held during the 26th Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, a joint cooperation between FISU, AIPS and the local Organising Committee.

During 5 days 10 young journalists from all over the world, 2 per continent, one from each gender, will attend a seminar and working sessions. These journalists will be complemented by 30-40 young Chinese journalists. In addition to these participants of the seminar, the LOC would like to invite some 100 other journalists to attend the seminar.

From FISU, Leonz Eder and Verena Burk, both EC members and resp. Chair and Vice-Chair of the Press Committee as well as Dejan Susovic, Director for Media and Communication, attended the meeting, while Ronggang Zhang, Jun Guo and Tingting Shen from the Shenzhen Media and Communications Department participated at this meeting, accompanied by Chen Hong, Shenzhen Bureau Chief of the China Daily.
