2011 SU Update: Tennis Inspection Visit

Yesterday, March 18th, the new proposed tennis venue for the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China, has been visited by Mr. Eiichi Kawatei, FISU CT Chair for Tennis and Mr. Michal Buchel, FISU Sports Department Manager. The venue is located in the Longgang District.

Mr. Kawatei agreed with the OC to move the tennis competition from Mission Hills Tennis Centre to the Longgang Tennis Centre.

CTA Vice-President Mr. LiA work session was held to distribute the technical information concerning the tennis competition. Representatives of the Organizing Committee Sports Department and Venues Department were present at the meeting which was also attended by the Vice-President of the China Tennis Association (CTA) Mr. Li, the Competition Department Manager of CTA Mr. Wan and Youth Training and Competition Center of Guangdong Province representative Mr. Zeng.

During the meeting different issues were discussed such as competition schedule, technical requirements for venues, required equipment and different functional areas allocation.

The meeting was very fruitful and the presence of the CTA experts was well appreciated.
