On October 17th, in Vigo, Spain the members of CESU continued their meeting by hearing the presentation of the progress report of the Organising Committee of the 10th FISU Forum. Mr. Juan Manuel Hueli Amador, the head of the promotion of the High Council of Sport represented the National University Sport Federation of Spain (CEDU).
After the presentation the members visited the main center of the Forum that will be Centro Social of Caixanova, the hotel where the participants will be accommodated (Husa Bahia de Vigo) and the University of Vigo.
The University of Vigo, founded in 1990, will welcome the third workshop day including the FISU Forum Fair that is the occasion for each country to present its National University Sports Federation.
The dates of the Forum are confirmed from June 21st to 26th (from the Opening to the Closing Ceremony).
The main team is “The FISU Forum, a platform for change”. The subthemes are as follows:
– Development of strategic plans of University sport at national level
– Environmental awareness and education through University
– Women’s Leadership and Sport
– Academic recognition and University sport
The organizing committee presented also the existing program for the Volunteers within the University of Vigo.
The delegates were also welcomed at the city hall by Mr. Santiago Doniguez,Vice-Mayor of the city of Vigo and Executive Chairman of the 10th FISU Forum.
