Final CTI and CSU meeting in Erzurum

It was already the final day for the CTI-CSU meetings and inspections, in Erzurum, Turkey.

The FISU CT chairs spent the whole morning with their respective OC sport staff. They made additional venue inspections and worked on their sport program.

During the final meeting, Roger Roth, the CTI Chair invited them for a round table where they could express their remarks and feedback on the organization of their sports. The schedule for next inspection visits was set up with the CT chairs who will need to come back before the Universiade in order to, once again, check the venues or take part in test events.

This was prior to the final CTI-CSU-OC meeting where all the CT chairs gave their reports in front of the Erzurum Universiade OC.

The general feeling was that all the CT chairs were confident about the preparation of the Universiade. Constructions are in full swing and the OC staff is really open and ready to host a fantastic Winter Universiade.

Roger Roth gave overall positive comments and thanked the OC for the fantastic job done so far.

Some comments were also made by our IT consultant Ana Radonjic over IT and Communications issues. These topics are very important and some of them are still to be improved before the games.

Kairis Ulp, CSU Chair giving her final comments

Kairis Ulp, Chair of the Supervision Committee for the Winter Universiade underlined the importance of the hosting of an event such as the Universiade.

“This project has a lot of impact not only for Ezurum, but also for Turkey which is well known as a Sports Nation. On behalf of FISU and CSU, I would like to congratulate you for this project, and we wish you good luck and success for the completion of all venues on time”. Mrs. Ulp emphasized the fact that one could feel the strong support from the Turkish Government. This is really important to secure the whole preparation of the Universiade.

Finally, Mr. Bekir Korkmaz, the Universiade General Coordinator, thanked all the participants for their collaboration and wished them a safe trip back.
