From September 28th to 29th, 2009, FISU Director of Summer Universiade, Marc Vandenplas, visited Kazan, the host City of the 2013 Summer Universiade. The main purpose of this visit was to discuss with the Organising Committee the planning of IT activities as well as the Timing and Scoring system that will be developed during the Games.

FISU IT consultant, Miss Ana Radjonic explained in details the IT minimum requirements and presented the project of the Games Management System that will be developed by FISU and will be given for free to all the future Organisers of Summer and Winter Universiades.

Mister Jozef Spiri from Swiss Timing also presented to the Kazan OC the Timing and Scoring requirements.

The FISU delegation discovered the impressive IT potential that is under development in Kazan by visiting the brand new IT Park that will be inaugurated next month by the Russian President Medvedev. The visit of existing or nearly build venues has confirmed that Kazan is more than a reliable host for the 2013 Universiade. The Minister of Affairs of Youth, Sports and Tourism of Tatarstan, Marat Bariev, and the Director of Sports of the City op Kazan and Executive Director of the OC, Vladimir Leonov, have met FISU delegates during several different meetings.
