2009 SU Update: FISU President Visits Rhythmic Gymnastics Venues

25 June 2009

Today, June 25th, FISU President George E. Killian visited the two training venues for Rhythmic Gymnastics, i.e. the City Sports Center ‘Old DIF’ and the Pioneer Ice Rink, home of the Serbian Ice Hockey Federation and Pioneer Ice Hockey Club. For the Summer Universiade the ice has been removed so the venue can be used as a training facility for the rhythmic gymnasts.

Mr. Killian was very satisfied with the work done, especially since ‘Old DIF’ needed to be totally refurbished. ‘The athletes will get the best training facilities and the Universiade will leave a great legacy to the city of Belgrade as these accommodations are historical building with a lot of sports history.

During his visit the FISU President was accompanied by FISU Summer Universiade Director Marc Vandeplas and guided by OC Sports Director Dragan Pesikan and Sports Venue Manager Darko Glavas.
