2009 SU Update: Tissot Official Timekeeper of the 25th Universiade

Tissot, Swiss watchmaker since 1853, is the Official Timekeeper of the 25th Universiade Belgrade 2009 which will take place from the Jylu 1st to 12th. The partnership with FISU major event underlines Tissot’s commitment to sport and timekeeping.

As official timekeeper of sporting events Tissot has worked in association with a team of specialists for several decades to record times for world’s premier sporting moments that include the Asian Games in 1998, 2002 and in 2006, the Pan American Games in 2003 and 2007, the Universiade in 2007 as well as, World Championships of Cycling, Ice Hockey, Fencing, Moto GP, NASCAR, FIBA, CBA and AFL. Tissot is proud of its partnerships in providing the latest cutting edge technology that meets the highest quality standards of performance and precision, in accordance with the brand’s values.

Since the first Universiade in Turin, Italy in 1959, where 45 countries competed in just 8 sports, this multi-sport event taking place every two years has continued to grow in popularity and reputation. The 25th Universiade Belgrade 2009 will feature athletes from around 170 countries, competing in 15 sports.
