2009 SU Update: Japanese Delegation visit Universiade Village

On Sunday, May 31st, the Japanese delegation visited the Athletes’ Village in New Belgrade, headed by Naoki Hagiwara, the international relations officer of the Japanese team.
The three-member Japanese delegation visited the Universiade Village accompanied by the venues sector director Ranko Tepavcevic and his associates. They were interested in the accommodation for the athletes and security measures in the Village and at the 25th Summer Universiade – to be opened in Belgrade on July 1st this year.

The Japanese delegates visited the Village buildings where members of their delegation will be staying and were made cognizant of the security procedures for all Universiade participants – more than 10,000 of them.
Ranko Tepavcevic showed Mr. Hagiwara and his colleagues not only the accommodation, but all the other facilities that will be available to the athletes and explained to them the arrival of delegations procedure, the accreditation procedure, the accommodation procedure, restaurants and talked about health protection and other services at the athletes’ disposal during the Universiade.

Members of the Japanese delegation also visited a number of sports venues: Belgrade Arena, Crvena Zvezda Stadium, Belgrade Exhibition Halls, the tennis courts in Dorcol, and the sport centers Banjica, Sumice, Pionir, Tasmajdan and the Military Academy.
