FISU Delegates at IIHF World Championship

On May 8th, 2009, Roger ROTH, FISU CTI Chair WU and Milan AUGUSTIN, FISU Director of Winter Universiade, met in Bern, Switzerland during the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championship with Lars G.KARLSSON, FISU CT Chair for Ice Hockey, to discuss a number of relevant steps towards the Ice Hockey tournament for Men and Women during the 25th Winter Universiade which will be held in Erzurum, Turkey from January 27th to February 6th, 2011.

This meeting was important to prepare all issues, mainly concerning refereeing which will be passed on to the IIHF to continue the good cooperation between both federations.

Then all FISU representatives attended the Ice Hockey match RUS-USA (3:2) where they met some important representatives of the IIHF as Frederick MEREDITH, Jan-Ake EDVINSSON and Horst LICHTNER.

The Turkish Ice Hockey Federation representatives presented the 2011 WU in Erzurum to the icehockey family during the IIHF Annual Congress which took place at the same time as the WC in Bern.
