Figure Skating: Synchronized Competition Started Today

Ice Dancing
The Ice Dance competition was won by the pair Alexandra Zaretski & Roman Zaretski from Israel. A great performance for Israel for their first participation at the Winter Universiade. The silver went to Ekatarina Rubleva and Ivan Shefer from Russia. Alla Beknazarova and Vladimir Zuev from Ukraine had to settle with the bronze.

 

Women Individual
After the short program with 28 participants in the women’s individual competition, Kiira Korpi from Finland is on the lead. She is followed by Nana Takeda form Japan and Elena Glebova from Estonia.

 

Synchronized Skating
Today, the synchronized skating competition debuted. After the short program, Team Sweden leads the competition, followed by rival Finland. Team Russia fills in the third spot. Fourth and fifth are USA and Switzerland respectively.
