Arjen Van Der Kieft breaks the Universiade Record

Women’s 1,500m
Nao Kodaira (JPN) has shattered the previous Universiade Record of 02:00.69 set in Torino 2007 by Katarzyna Wojcicka (POL) clocking a 1:59.03 and winning the gold. Silver and bronze went to Chinese skaters Dong Feifei and Ji Jia.

Men’s 5,000m
Also in the men’s race the current Universiade Record of 06:32.71 set in Torino 2007 by Mark Ooijevaar (NED) was bettered by his compatriot Arjen Van Der Kieft with a 6:29.94. Silver went to fellow-Dutchman Renz Rotteveel and Bronze to Artem Belousov (RUS).
