'Château de la Solitude'
GENERAL SECRETARIAT OF FISU - Brussels

Since 2006, the FISU Headquarters are located in the ‘Château de la Solitude’ in Auderghem. Constant growth in the number of members and the development of our events required our Federation to change its home.
The Solitude Manor is located in Auderghem, one of the municipal districts in the Brussels capital region, on three hectares of grounds bordering the Soignes Forest. It was constructed in 1912 by the French architect François Malfait for Duchess Marie-Ludmille de Croy in French neoclassical style. Ownership of the manor was transferred to the Belgian State in the 1950s and thereafter to the French Community of Belgium, to be used as a school for children of migrant workers and bargemen. As the French Community was not authorized to restore this type of building, it sold the manor to the Solibel Company in 1998. The company initially intended to restore the manor respecting its original architecture, so, with the approval of all the necessary authorities, Solibel decided to use the manor for offices in order to maintain the original volumes and the aesthetics insofar as possible both inside and outside.
After a year of restoration work done jointly by Solibel, DB Associates and the Architecture Workshop of Genval, this unique venue recovered its former spirit and its splendour in January 2002. Specialized craftsmen (to restore the facades, the woodwork, the mouldings and the ironwork) were engaged to recover the building's original beauty. FISU has gained the privilege of setting up its offices in this magnificent building. This building in a classical style boasts every modern comfort needed for a secretariat like ours. When it was restored, everything was carefully thought out to facilitate its use by the people who will have the pleasure of working there.

FISU OFFICE - LAUSANNE

MSI Lausanne
FISU also has a staffed office at the ‘Maison du Sport International’ in Lausanne, Switzerland, a unique complex that brings together under one roof several of the leading players in international sports administration, notably the headquarters of twenty or so international sports federations and organisations and some ten companies active in the field of sport.
Strategically positioned on the Avenue de Rhodanie, by the shores of Lake Geneva, the Maison du Sport International (MSI - the 'Home of International Sport'), includes a reception building and three office blocks, forming a modern, welcoming and functional complex in a prime location. Apart from 4,300 m2 of office space, the building provides conference rooms, a cafeteria and a gym. It also offers a series of small, fully-equipped offices sharing a reception and various additional services such as photocopying machine, fax, internet, telephone lines, cleaning services etc.
This new infrastructure constitutes a remarkable opportunity for FISU, allowing us to work together, cultivate contacts, share experience and exploit synergies.
FISU will temporarily use a single office space until it will move to the 4th office block for which the constructions recently started.
